People like to put people of color in a box when it comes to education. They plant these misconceptions in our children's heads, which lead them to believe that they are stupid, that they can't learn, or that they need things explained to them in the simplest form in order for them to understand. Children of color have been oppressed for years and still not much has been done to change the situation. Friere talks a lot about dehumanization in the early chapters. I agree that our children are being dehumanized and that the education system is setting them up for further failure
